To make bud butter, I advise using a Bain Marie. Melt the butter and add the fine grass mixture. Finally, stir until even and make sure that you do not burn the butter. Transfer the butter mixture to a cold bowl and fold some more, possibly doing this on a bed of ice to prevent the butter separating. Continue stirring until it has a thicker texture.

I have a couple of questions for you, and believe it or not, they are about my plants, not some Dear Abby thing. To begin with, I have been putting my plants that are 19" and 22 " respectively, outside during the day, The wind has been rough on them at times and I have trouble telling if the dry leaves and edges are due to the wind, also, they have been on 12/12 for about 2-3 weeks now. The breezy conditions are breaking a few of the fan leaves off and at the same time, I took a clone from one of my girls. Is this going to set her back? I have no idea what strain they are, they are just some that were given to me. Also, I have a few littler ones, maybe 5-7 inches, as an experiment, I gave them a dose of African Violet food to see what would happen, well, needless to say, they edges are burned up pretty good, so I took the tops of them and am trying to root them, Because when my larger plant got beat up, I thought I would take a clone, well she is, like I said a few weeks into flowering, but now that I have a budding clone rooting, what can I expect to see happen?

Get a fan and keep them indoors under the light, because if you take them outside it will play havoc with their growing cycles and it is more controllable under the indoor light.

As for cloning, this should do no damage and please do not use African Violet food. If you must use an easily obtainable fertiliser, look at some of the tomato fertilisers that are sold in garden shops. For the budding clone, treat as a small plant and start flowering cycle as usual.

I have recently moved to Cornwall and desperately want to know how to grow weed. I have seen lots of web sites, but none with complete novice instructions. I know it cost around £150 - £200 to start up, but how long will it take before I can smoke it?

Also, do you have to really know what you're doing to grow your own?

Basics for cheap grow room set-up are:

Grow light (Phillips SON-T-AGRO 400W bulbs are best).
Ropes and pulley - so that you can move the light.
Horticultural sand.
Trough for sand.
Waterproof soil-heating cable.
Pots (I like 15 3¾ "pots).
Peat-free compost.
Perlite.
Oscillating fan (very important).
Hemp seeds.

Now you have enough to start a basic set-up. Try and get a book called 'Closet Cultivator' by E. Rosenthal, which will tell you the right path to grow your own. It should take about 3 months for the first crop.

Your site is one of the best I have been to. I want to grow my own, but I don't want huge amounts, just a couple of plants for myself. I don't smoke that much and won't be selling so I won't make money back on expensive lights. Can I grow it indoors without using lights? My windowsill is quite sunny and I've got a window box (but I don't want next-door nicking it). I don't mind waiting for them to mature either. I want some real giggle-weed (nothing too trippy). Any suggestions on an easy to grow variety? Also, whenever I have solid I feel kinda sick and wobbly, and I get paranoid. Is that normal or will it be additives?

You really will need to use lights if you are to grow cannabis indoors; check out www.starlitesystems.co.uk.

No variety of cananbis is that difficult to grow, however, the more experienced you are, the better the plant will be - check out our good friends at www.potseeds.co.uk for a good deal on F1 cannabis seeds.

I've been smoking a lot of skunk during school lunch times as we're allowed out of school. We normally have about 2 or 3 spliffs between 3-4 of us. When we go back to school after lunch, the potent smell of skunk and tobacco is really smelly. It's very noticeable and several people have made comments. Is there a way of getting rid of the smell? Or a less smelly way of smoking it instead of joints? The problem areas are fingers, breath and clothes.

Are there any ways of telling how good the quality of hash is from the appearance? I have heard that in a lot of hash there are many chemicals added and I would like to be able to tell whether the hash that I buy is polluted. Any give-aways?

Texture and smell is generally a better method of testing the hash than colour. Sometimes there are chemicals, especially in repressed hash.

Me and my friends love giving shot guns with blunts (this is where the blunt is put in one persons mouth backwards and that person then blows out making smoke flow out of the hitting end of the blunt giving you a really big toke).

Now over time we have thought of and learned many different ways to get bigger hits with shotguns. We can join hands by making the ok sign and then locking fingers. We can use hats for amazing hits, and my personal fav has to be where you close one side of your nose and suck the smoke up the other side as hard as you can (I call it the killer shotgun).

Dr Hemp please tell me and my friends some more ways to get really big hits without having to make or buy bongs. We like getting big hits off of jays and blunts.

What's the difference between dope that is different colors. I smoke some light brown dope and that dope is great. I get so stoned and I usually can't see straight and think strait and get orgasmic feelings. The other dope I get is pretty fucked up. It gets you great feelings, but I can see strait and think well. Does the difference affect how good the dope is? Also, where I live I can get about more than a fistful of the light brown dope for less than $40. That's a great price right? How much does pot cost in America?

The dope that is a different colour is from a different region or has more pollen. Yes, I am told the price in America is about $40 - $50 for an eighth of bud, although bear in mind I'm English.

With regards to your second question, just let nature take its course, don't rush it, the plants won't mature until late September. Cut down any male plants.

Finally, don't take marijuana through US customs. It's not worth the risk; buy some when you get there instead.

I was working on auto line one day co-worker said: "Hey lets go smoke this joint at lunch." I hit it 3 times and got real buzzed. When I got back to the job I was a little worried that I might not be able to work, but did job great and time flew by (from that day on I never missed a day of burning before work and at lunch). So many Detroit auto workers smoke! I don't like smoking it, I think that it's bad for my lungs.

You say you can eat it, but won't this just waste most of it? Can I take ginger root with it to help the buzz? (lower ph with ginger root) I've never tried eating weed .Can it be made into a drink like hot tea?

When I get high, I blackout and start to get super dizzy and scared. It's really scary. I see stuff in fast motion and then blackout for less then a second it seems then it's like I just woke up and I'm scared ... it's really weird. The best pot is the one that you're smoking at the time. Some favourites of mine are Mazur Shariff for solids and for grass, pure Jamaican Sensi, White Widow, Northern Light, etc., I like them all.

Please help. I'm thinking of making my own PVC tube system, so will ordinary a 6 inch PVC pipe be ok to use or does it have to be food grade only? (What ever that means?) I was told that ordinary PVC might deteriorate after a bit of use from the nutrients and if that is the case I will have to get a special plastic reservoir as well? If food grade is the only way to go do you know of anyone here in England where I could get some?

Food grade means that it is sterilised. You should use a rubber reservoir, surf around the Internet for online head shops. Alternatively, try a grow light supply shop or a farm supplier.

Basically use oil or break hash and mix with heated dairy products. Oil is better with milk and hash is better for butter. With green, simply use it like cooking herbs.

Try a mini vaporiser, which is more compact. They are advertised in Weed World and the phone number given is +44.1974.821518.

The best strain to use is probably Ruderalis, which is an early flowering variety that grows wild in parts of Eastern Europe and Russia. It's not the strongest, therefore you won't get too stoned, but you will get an adequate THC hit to relieve the symptoms.

UK: Swansea Crown Court Hears How Pembroke Dock Cannabis
Western Telegraph, 12 Jul 2010 - A Pembroke Dock man who has campaigned for the legalisation of cannabis for medical purposes for the last 15 years has turned over a new leaf, a judge heard on Friday. Eric Mann, a retired oil refinery supervisor, served two prison sentences while taking on the government in a bid for those suffering chronic pain to be allowed to take cannabis for pain relief.
