Hello all,
new here ... great site! ... and with (to be honest) an ulterior motive.
Just moved to East Devon & can't find a regular, reliable supply, just for me. Can anyone help? Do I have to pass a test of some kind to prove that i'm a genuine personal buyer? I can do that!
I'm so rubbish at this computer stuff - i bet I've put this in the wrong place!

Hi SeeClear,
Welcome to Devon and also to Caned.
Sadly, all talk of marijuana usage by all the caned community is purely hypothetical, unless they are visiting Holland.

hey welcome seeclear, no you've posted your intro in the right place, best to post here in the forums as that shoutbox text moves quickly once people are about : )
i would suggest you grow your own green tomato plants so that you don't have to worry about regular supplies. it doesn't have to be a massive set-up at a huge cost.
i've had the same problem as i love my green tomatoes, too, but my supply was shut down permanently half a year ago now, and it's expensive to keep buying gear. check out the contaminated thread as well, people will do all sorts to make a profit and don't mind if it's at the cost of your health!
if you need help with questions and queries about your toms, we're always here to help, we might not be here 24-7 but someone will reply eventually, and there's a wiki full of info on gardening (left-hand menu).
otherwise -- good to have you here, what made you decide to move to devon then and where are you from originally?

Thanx for that; I'm just going to have to bite the bullet (or anything else that can withstand mass gnashing of teeth when the withdrwals kick in...!) and dig out my gardening tools ... The wiki suggestion was cool too, although it's all so massively confusing!
I'm from Hampshire originally - Southampton nil actually - and moved here to be near my son & his family. I live just a few minutes from them & get to see them around twice a month (!) - Should have stayed in Kent, where I lived for 3 years & was sublimley happy!
Now in Exmouth ... won't say any more about that tho - would hate to be rude about the people here who have made me feel so unwelcome!
Right, off to purchase some tomato seeds ... does anyone know roughly how long it takes from dirt to paper? lotsa love xxxxx

Hey LMS, I've heard that before! I think the insularity here is the result of (almost) living on a peninsula - Emth natives very rarely travel the entire length of the A376! :_b_link__: I think I'm missing my previous life; spent 9 months travelling down the south coast in a caravan with my old dog and a leaky awning. I stopped off for a while with the good folks of Osho Leela in Dorset, but despite their offer of a place in the commune I didn't stay (sic)! My massive, overwhelming obsession (apart from quality greens of course) is dance. I'm a 48 year old 22 year old hippy chick-cowgirl & I will NEVER get old! Not interested in fancy furniture, fancy clothes, interior decor, status or 'social' standing; Am interested in people, travel, books, BBC radio 7, spiritual growth, jazz, jazz, blues & jazz, meditation, goats cheese, dogs, sparkly shoes & second hand clothes shops. My current fave bon mot is "you make a living by what you get and a life by what you give". (Currently reading Marcus Aurelius!) So, it's time to grow some roots for a while & make new friends. I've found the adjustment to living in one place quite difficult at times, but getting the hang of it now! Thanks all who have replied; I feel welcomed here!

hello, nice to have you here . eugh. exmouth. i've heard its depressingly hard to get anything good there at the moment. i suggest going a little out of your way and buying in bulk to stifle your worries and let yourself live life without having to seek good greens all the time.

Even more wow! I can't teach either flamenco or salsa, but i could give a lesson in the basics of partner led dance; how to lead & follow, get the tension right, how to use your spine and rump to make you look 6" taller & 15lbs thinner ... not that I know if you need either of those, but most women just don't seem to 'stand' right, although it's possibly due to the fact that we all (apparently!) wear the wrong size bra! I'm not 'touting for business' either babe - please don't think that; I'll freely give what's been given to me over the years. Chat to your mates (m&f!) and if you get small group together in a reasonably sized room with a smooth floor, I'll happily come over. (fridays are best...)All I ask in return is the opportunity to have a good laugh & make some new mates! Hope I've not overstepped the mark babe; no offence is ever meant!

hahahahahahaha! It would appear that you may have visited this dark part of the planet before!!!
My latest theory is that because the EM natives don't ever leave their holy land, they never get to meet anyone with manners!
Just made contact with a good friend in Southampton - he hadn't answered my last two text messages, but as his totally out-of-control English Bull Terrier had eaten his phone, it wasn't a wonder he didn't reply! He sooooooo needs Cesar Millan (My Hero!)
So, my supplies are secure for the next two months at least, but I take your point about needing to get out more; trouble is, aside from my dance classes, I don't (as yet) have anywhere else to go... If I'm ever travelling out of Exeter of an evening, I usually prefer a Friday night (no work next day, usual reason).
I've just realised that I may have sounded a tad 'forward' in that last paragraph; please forgive my total lack of understanding of the human condition requirements!

Hi seeclear nice to have you on the site.
I live in yorkshire so cant help with the "locals"
If your supply is goin in a couple of months, then your still goin to be stuck? But if you doin your own veg patch, it will take about 11/12 week, from plant to cut, then drying, if you get a 8 week flo plant, n right set up, check potseeds.co.uk seedbank all seeds state there flo time, and other that that, ask q's on these sites n read whats been writen, but if you can grow flowers in the garden then you have the skills to grow your own veg.
