City Business Park, Plymouth - ‘Skunk Farm Bust’
On Wednesday the 14th January 2009, 7 or 8 officers from Devon and Cornwall Police executed a warrant to raid the offices of
www.planttissueculture.co.uk. No arrests were made and the most exciting plants found growing were Psychotria viridis, Salvia divinorum, Chili peppers and Peyote cactus.
One of the Directors, trainee lab technician and internet marketing wizard ‘Jutt’ stated ”It was really exciting, one minute I was taking delivery of a laminar flow hood and the next I had a warrant served on me. The police were very happy that we had removed the see through glass door to the premises. One senior officer stated to me ‘It was the first time in 20 years that he had seen such a thing’.
Over all the Devon and Cornwall Police were very polite and they did a fine mornings work.”
He continued “We spoke to the management of Plymouth council run ‘City Business Park’ to apologize as we thought a jealous competitor had tipped off the police out of spite of our business success. We were then informed that it was in fact the reception staff who had called the police as they did not agree with the content and products on one of the companies 150+ domains and after putting 2 and 2 together they then decided to involve the police.”
Delivery driver ‘Tufty’ who was handcuffed during the raid commented “I think they were expecting some massive cannabis factory as a Senior Officer attended who I have seen regularly on one of SKY TV’s police shows. It is quite obvious it is a legitimate business judging from the fact the door is glass and you can see into the office.”
Chris Bovey, fellow internet entrepreneur and industry expert, said “To confuse a cannabis plant with a cactus requires a level of stupidity that I didn’t realise existed even with Plymouth City Council Employees.” |
