There isn't a thread dedicated to Glastonbury Festival yet....so I've started one.

Anyone going?

The only way I was thinking about attending Glasto was by volunteering to look after a stand for one of the charities sponsoring it. Sadly or maybe not so sadly, I didn't manage to fill out a form to do so in time.

I'm a bit lukewarm about going though now after (I think I wrote about it in Big Chill) a few of my friends who have been die-hard fans for years are just not interested any more due to the number of people present and the muddy conditions getting out of hand.

I'm also a bit upset to have read last summer that they were looking to install massive concrete drainage systems at the farm, and that kind of takes away the "field effect", which I guess was the whole point of it all : (

But there's also a part of me that would want to go, just once, especially if there's some bands/artists I'd really like to see : )

Are you going then?

Yep.....I'll be dragging my arse up there.

Really looking forward to seeing Amy Winehouse and hopefully catch massive attack as well, Fat Boy Slim just has to be done amongst others.

Yep, Glastonbury was brilliant, the rain didn't really dampen the spirits of the attendees, except for my neighbour's who woke up in a puddle.

@ Tie-DyeITGuy ; )
Nice one, what did you see there that was good then?

@ LittleMissSpliff
It didn't seem to rain as much has it has in the last few years, glad to hear it was a bit drier for you lot.

The question is how long does it take for Glastonbury (literally, as in mud) to be thoroughly removed from your person ; )

I've heard this can take up to 3 baths, but it would be interesting to do a poll with our recent attendees : D

I didn't really get that muddy, but the dust from when it was dry is a real bugger.

Between all of us that were there we didn't actually get to see much music.

I personally saw Fat Boy Slim, who was ace and Amy Winehouse, who was amusing, but she still managed to hold it together to sing pretty well for most of her set. There were others I wanted to see but I was working and had to miss them or couldn't be arsed because beer drinking was keeping me amused.

Thats what crack does to your lungs, probably made worse thanks to chemical impurities caused directly by prohibition.
