Cannabis re classification, a dangerous step. 5 Months ago

I was quite surprised at how much the news of possible reclassification got to me, its been hanging over me like a cloud since news broke that it may happen. Afer mulling it over some more I realised it wasnt the reclassification that had disturbed me, after all, its just a changed letter in a wrong scale of classification for a substance that is wrongly illegal. It makes no odds to me what they do, they can stuff their law up their collective fat arses, how they do it is a different matter though. It would seem that even after Govt advisers (The "Experts" they wheel out and love to quote) have advised, _base_d on Scientific evidence and Social impact, that Cannabis not be reclassified our Govt have pandered to media hysteria and nonsense (Daily Mail) in order to "be seen to do something, anything as long as it appears tough" to quote another website. This is dangerous, very dangerous, especially when we take into account that the majority of the public want Cannabis in the open, they want the gangsters out and they want the grow houses shut down but it would seem these views fall on deaf ears. The public are more clued up on Cannabis social and health impact than any Govt will ever be, the public live with it every day and can see it is a harmless activity. No wonder children lose any interest or any trust in politics when it appears that no body has a care what the majority know or want, pandering to hysteria is a very bad step and if the law gets passed next year we really need to start thinking about where we are heading as a country. We are lucky to live in a Democracy, or at least we were, unfortunately only a minority of the populace actually vote, so a minority have the voice in this country, thats why we are heading towards Fascist dictatorship under the guise of freedom, we are sleep walking into a hell hole and I am a bit anxious about it. P.S This rant was brought on by some rather nice hash pipes this morning, spicy!!! Peace.
