LED growing 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Me and my friend spent a long time during the summer researching LED grow projects and seeing some reasonable results.

I (being semi-skilled in electronics) constructed two prototype panels of our own, running off an old laptop power supply.

We began growing one seed under it, and he started off well, growing several inches in the first couple of days (During this period he was getting some natural sunlight alongside the LED, because I was still finishing the panels). Putting him in the cupboard with our two LED panels definetly slowed growing a bit, but he did continue.

Unfortunatly due to a structural accident (it fell on him) he didn't live much past two weeks.

My question is: Do you have any personal experience of LED grow systems, and obviously do they work?! I've read they're fine for vegging but pretty much need to be subsidised by a CFL or similar for flowering...

We intend to restart our grow within a few months, after a few crucial changes to the panels and the addition of some fans. We also have components to make another two panels, all four of which SHOULD run off the one power supply. If it works, I'll be sure to let you know, and if you still accept samples... well y'know .

I don't have any experience of LED growing but I've seen people's results on youtube and they're not amazing. If you could invent something more energy effeciant that would provide adequete light spectrums and light penetration you could make a lot of money.

But I've yet to see a growlight that will compete with MH/HPS for yields. Good luck in your experimentation though.

Yeh we haven't started this up again yet, for various reasons I won't go into.

But hopefully we will be over summer with a coupla plants. I'll be sure to keep you posted...

Now, off to make a topic in Introductions because I just realised I never did .
